Fancy Shmancy, huh?

Okay, so I literally got this award 4 months ago, but that was back when I was still an unpublished, unappreciated artist, struggling to make due with the little money I had.

I’m actually still an unpublished, unappreciated, artist that’s poor, so I guess that’s really no excuse. SO, I’m going to go ahead and post the rules and answer the questions now!

After thanking the most wonderful erinkenobi2893 (loving the name darling…don’t think I’ve ever told you that).

Questions (Prepare Yourself):

1. How many times in a day do you look things up online, on average? Oh, my life is online, so I look up stuff all the time. Sometimes I still have to look up my school’s official website…
2. What is the strangest thing you have ever said to anyone? UGH, I DIDN’T KNOW THESE WOULD BE HARD QUESTIONS!! How about I say the strangest thing I’ve ever thought about someone? Recently, that is. I’m pulling a Dory right now. So this one time, a random guy just walked up to me and started talking, and all I could think was “…He is cute. He is talking. He’s talking to me. Why is he talking to me?” I didn’t even completely register what he said until he walked away.
3. Since my dad is having us watch The Avengers and all the movies leading up to them… who’s your favorite Avenger? ;-) CAPTAIN AMERICA. The Winter Soldier movie totally changed my mind. Before him, it was Iron Man. I love how arrogant but witty he was in all his movies. I think it’s hilarious.
   
4. Which Avenger are you most like, in your opinion? In your friends’ opinions? None. My sister also says none.
5. If you had to pick one–just one–fictional character to be caught with in the middle of a natural disaster (or a nuclear war, take your pick) who would you choose? Erm, captain america? I feel like he’d figure out a way to keep me alive. But then again, he’d probably try to be all heroic and sacrifice himself or something crazy like that. Superheroes these days….sheesh!
6. Oddest thing you’ve sung in the shower? I was in a really random, ridiculously happy mood this one time, so I just put a tune to random words, and I sang it for awhile. I stopped in the middle of my shower, but then I picked back up randomly 2 hours later. I think it had something to do with potatos and cows and school buses, I don’t really remember.
7. What is the biggest thing you’ve had malfunction about your account or blog? (Mine is the elusive “like” button which I have often complained about.) I actually don’t think I’ve had any big problems at all. YAY, KARMA EXISTS :’D We should probably call the CIA now…
8. Favorite kind of fruit? Mangoes, pineapple, strawberries, peaches, apricots, green grapes, granny smith apples, any kind of crunchy apple….actually, pretty much any fruit other than raisins and bananas (does anybody else have to double check how they spell bananas?)
9. What book/movie/poem/short story has made the biggest impact on you lately? OH, THIS. I literally watched it an hour ago, and cried my face off. I also watched another one where a bunch of kids flash mobbed a NYC station (I would so love to do that…follow your dreams guys!) and one with little babies (I’m not sure how big the impact they made on my was…but THEY’RE SO CUTE).
10. And, last but not least, what was the funniest thing you read recently? Please share! ;-) The comment I made for this post. I didn’t realize we were so funny.

Versatile Award May 4, 2014

Okay, so I’ve been frantically trying to keep up with all these award I’ve been receiving (THANK YOU THANK YOU :’D) and I FINALLY got back to the one that Blaze gave me on like, April 10th. This award being the Versatile one.

So, um, I don’t actually feel like going through all of the rules (CAUSE IMMA REBEL), SOOO I’ll just post the 7 random facts and then be done with it.

Interesting Fact Numero Uno: I’m taking French, not Spanish. Despite this fact, however, I like to insert random Spanish words in my everyday English speaking (it’s because I’m special).

Two: I REALLY LIKE PIE (this ones’ just for those new people that haven’t seen me say I LIKE PIE :D 20 million times)

Three: All of my most bestest friends live in Georgia.

Four: I currently do not live in Georgia.

Five: I am an extremely happy person. And I like to laugh at everything. And I probably smile a teeny bit too much. And I talk really loud. And all of these could probably have been individual interesting facts.

Six: I have never ever finished writing any book that I’ve started (seriously. I’ve already started like, 5, and I haven’t finished any of them…I think I might be forced to use desperate measures now *pulls out sewing needle* *poises threateningly in the air* *starts sewing a hole in my sweater*)

Seven: I am absolutely terrible at thinking of random facts off the top of my head.

*Optional* Eight: OH, THIS ONE TIME, I saw this guy ax a car. IT WAS AWESOME

NOW, since I don’t feel like searching through everybody to see who’s gotten this award and think of who would most likely respond and all that, you guys can just reply yourselves and tell me at LEAST three interesting facts about yourselves (because I understand that thinking of seven/eight random facts in one sitting can be terribly exhausting just to think about).

The Questions:

 

What are you reading right now? Well, I just finished reading the Red Badge of Courage for literature, but I’m still kind of reading it because I have to write a literary analysis on it. I’m also 1 page in to my honors lit book, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court (gosh, I don’t hate you Twain, but really, you suck sometimes).
How do you choose which books you want to read? Wow, I just now really looked at all these questions, and they all have to do with reading or writing…where’s the “Do you pick your nose when you sleep?” questions?

How do I choose…hm. That’s a good question. I have an account on goodreads, so I’ll usually read whatever’s popular for teens (sometimes. sometimes the popular books look TERRIBLE) or whatever my friend’s suggest or whatever book it says I might like or whatever book looks like it won’t end in heartbreak and tears and broken plates and such.
What is your writing process? For creative writing? Or for school? Well, I guess it’s about the same both ways…so NEVERMIND, don’t answer that. The way I write is by brain dump. I put everything on paper and try not to stop until I’m finished (otherwise, all my literature papers would look like my short stories…nonexistent/not finished).
Which author do you admire and why? OOOO that’s a HARD one…like, really hard. Really REALLY hard. Really REally REAlly REALy REALLY hard. And I’m probably just going to procrastinate on this question until the end of humanity.
What is your favorite place to write and why? …On my computer….mostly because my writing sucks when I’m writing on paper. Plus, I type faster than I write, so I can get all my ideas down faster. I can’t WAIT until somebody invents a computer that has a headpiece that you can put on, and all your brain information gets sent to the computer….
What books are you looking forward to this year? That Are Coming Out: The One (IT BETTER NOT END WEIRD OR I’LL BE SO MAD AT HER THERE WON’T EVEN BE WORDS JUST LOTS OF GIBBERISH SOUNDING YELLING), The Blood Of Olympus (THAT ONE BETTER NOT END WEIRD EITHER WITH EVERYBODY DEAD/ DYING ALL OVER THE PLACE OR I’LL FIND RIORDAN’S FREAKING ADDRESS AND SEND HIM A LETTER ABOUT HOW MAD I AM AT HIM EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE), anddd I can’t think of anymore right now. That I Need To Read: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Emerald Green, Sisters, The Book Thief, Paper Towns, The Origami Yoda etc etc etc.
When did you first start writing? Ninth grade. It started with a story (that failed), then I went into poetry (that, looking back, mostly sucked), then back to writing stories I’ve never finished. I did, however, start writing songs (the lyrics) a little bit earlier than ninth grade. THOSE, I must admit, I’m proud of. Well, most of them. Some of them I laugh at so hard, and wonder what on earth I was thinking…
What is the first book you can remember reading?

Probably something close to this

Have you ever taking any writing classes? YES YES I HAVE. It was in 9th grade, and I met the girl that taught me a habit that would eventually get me in trouble (no…it wasn’t stealing….and no….it had nothing to do with profanity…yeesh you guys’re judgmental). I even remember her name (the teacher, not the girl)…Mrs. Card (get it? Card? hehehe……no? okay then).
Who is your favorite literary character? Augustus freaking Waters and Ignifex. If I ever get married…it’ll be to one of them. And yes, that was the sound of me willingly throwing all other potential suitors out the window.

KIDDING. JUST KIDDING.
What is your favorite classic book? Hmmm…I think I’m going to say The Wizard of Oz or The Glass Menagerie (that totally and completely counts). OH OH OH OR A PRINCESS BOOK! I love princess books. Or really any fairytale for that matter…so maybe I’ll just say this.

Camp NaNoWriMo (and how I’m kind of cheating, but not really) April 2, 2014

It’s that time of year again, guys. Time to bring out you pens/ pencils/ paper/ notebooks/ coffee/ tea/ water/ OJ/ lemonade/ typewriters/ laptops/ keyboards/ …I don’t know, gift cards? and START WRITING.

Again.

Seems like just a few months ago, I was trying, then deciding not too, then deciding too, then failing at the regular NaNoWriMo.

Oh sweet memories…

But in ACTUAL GOOD NEWS I GO-

Oh yeah…I didn’t explain the title yet. Okay, so I was SUPPOSED to start writing whatever I’m supposed to be writing yesterday, but my laptop charger broke, so then I could no longer charge my computer…so I couldn’t use it for a 2 days…

IT WAS TERRIBLE I TELL YOU. TERRIBLE.

But I survived. So I’m okay.

But anyways, I went on to check my account, and there were like, 30 camper messages from people saying hi. 45 hours after I said hi. Cabin-mates suck sometimes, you guys. I’m just saying. So THEN, I went on and put that I wrote 1,435 words today.

Now this is kind of a lie…but not really. I didn’t actually physically sit down and type up that many words and decided to dedicate it to NaNoWriMo. No, what I decided to do was edit a story that I had kinda sorta started a little bit, and see how far I got with it. So TECHNICALLY, since I had to do all the work and search for a grand total of 30 seconds for the document, that can count as my writing time. Besides, I’m going to go edit it some today anyways. And THAT counts as working.

…Right?

And besides, it’s not like I don’t have that many words and I totally lied…

Okay, moving on.

P.S. DON’T COMMENT AND MAKE ME FEEL GUILTY ABOUT THIS.

Okay, now for not rambling actual GOOD news.

I GOT ACCEPTED TO BE A STATE FINALIST TO COMPETE FOR MISS KANSAS TEEN THROUGH NATIONAL AMERICAN MISS OH MY GOSH I’M SO EXCITEDDDDDDDDDD OH MY GOSHHHHHHH!!!!!

Only un problemo, mi amigo’s (and no, I’m not taking spanish…I’m taking french. Don’t ask)…there’s a sponsor fee. And I need half of it ($240) by before the end of the month. So I have to like, call people. REAL PEOPLE. LIKE, REAL REAL LIVE PEOPLE.

HOW AM I GOING TO DO THIS?!

Haha, I’m just kidding…I’m actually really excited about it. Even the getting sponsors part. I mean, this is a pageant with a purpose. They don’t do the swimsuit modeling part, and you don’t even have to model at all if you don’t want too. You learn interviewing skills, you learn how to confidently walk and talk in front of a live audience with lots of people, you can practice your talent, and win awards for it, you do community service…it’s awesome. Getting the sponsors should be REALLY fun after I figure out what I’m supposed to say. If I can make it to state finals, I can talk to a general manager. I mean, they’re not going to like, bite me…right? They’ll just sit there and listen and look at the brochure and talk with me and tell me yes or no! I mean, I’m ALREADY a people person. It’s why I like downtown so much. And why I never ever EVER want to live on the farm. Or too far into the country. We could have a 2 million dollar mansion, but if it were too far away from civilization, I’d go rent a bungalow or something.

Okay, the mansion part miiight not be completely accurate…but you get the point.

In other OTHER good news, WE’RE DOING FOOD SCULPTING TONIGHT AHHH I’M SO EXCITEDDDDD!!!!

Wow, I get excited REALLY easily… But I guess that’s a good thing. I mean, cause when I get a boyfriend (AHAHAHAHHAHA THAT’S FUNNY! I mean…*ahem*, keep reading), he’ll always be happy cause I’ll just be happy to see him all the time!

But flowers are still good. Oooooh or chocolate. You can never EVER have enough of that.

Liebster (what is that anyways?) Award March 25, 2014

I LOVE these so much. They make me feel good. Really good. It’s almost like having nutella and pancakes and hot chocolate and whipped cream and strawberries in the same hour…

Dang it. Now I’m hungry. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY SOMEHOW YOUR FAULT MIKO. But I forgive you since you nominated me.

The Questions:

Deserts before a meal or after a meal? Wait, are you asking if I eat it before or after meals? Or would I prefer it that way? Or do I know people that do it? OR ALL THREE COMBINED (that would be: Or do all I do three prefer know combined it people that that way it?, which kind of makes sense in a really weird kind of way…)?? I’ll just answer all of them…

A) No, I don’t eat dessert before meals. I eat it after. Unless my mom’s like YOU CAN’T HAVE THAT YOU ALREADY HAD SOME BEFORE DINNER. In that case yes, I do do that occasionally. B) I think if it were up to me, I’d do it sometimes, but not all the time. Probably just because I’m used to doing it the normal way. But WHEN I HAVE KIDS, we’re going to have dessert and then dinner once every month. I’m going to be the mosT magical/awesome/coolest/amazing mom EVER. C) Nope. D) I’m not sure how to answer that…I would combine all my answers together, but that would take awhile. MOVING ON.

Fridays or Saturdays?

Guess…

If for one day, you could be anyone famous, who would you be and why? I would be my famous self 10 years from now, make an outline of how I got there, stick it in my pocket and somehow transport it back with me, and do whatever I did to get to where I was, but faster. THERE IS NO FLAW IN THIS PLAN AND THERE’S ABSOLUTELY NO-WAY-NO-HOW THIS CAN NOT WORK.

Murphy’s Law or Hedonism Paradox? Depends on the situation…but USUALLY, I’d go with Murphy’s Law, because that just seems to be the case for everywhere and everybody. HOWEVER, I’M USUALLY AN EXTREMELY(okay, maybe not extremely) OPTIMISTIC, so I like the second one better a lot of the time. So it’s 40 to 60 usually.

What’s your biggest fear? That everyone will die and I’ll be all alone and condemned to live in an apartment all by myself.

And then my next door neighbor will get a Gecko….(Worst childhood scary story E.V.E.R.)

If you were given 1 billion dollars, what would you do with it? Why? I WOULD BLOW ALL OF IT BECAUSE IF IT EVER HAPPENED, I’D PROBABLY BE DREAMING.

Actually, I’d probably go to EFY. Then drag all my friends with me. Then put a million of it in savings for college. Then buy a house. And then go on a cruise. And stay at a resort. And buy two cars. And three tablets. And 2 cell phones. And a laptop for every room in my house. And hire an interior designer. And a chef. And then donate all my clothes on go on a shopping spree. Then help a few friends get into college. And by THAT time, I should still have about 100 dollars left to put in my wallet for later purposes.

Wait…why? What do you mean WHY? EFY IS THE BESTEREDEST PLACE I’VE NEVER BEEN TOO! And I like having fun with my friends. And college is important. And houses are important too. And I’ve never been on a cruise. And I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a REAL resort. And having cars is a good investment. And I probably don’t need that many tablets, but that’s okay. And I need one to put in the car! And laptops are important! And I need somebody to decorate the inside of my house…duh. And because SHOPPING IS FUN, and because my friends wants to go into that kind of thing as her college major/job, so I’d be completely and totally helping a fellow American civilian *heart of gold*.  And college is still important. AND LEFT OVER MONEY IS…GOOD….yeahhh I’ve run out of barely descriptive words.

One thing you’re pretty sure no one knows about you? I have never ever at any point ever had lice.

What? I HAVEN’T! I doubt anyone’s ever suspected it…but there you are.

Is talent born or made? I think it’s both, but more the second one. Someone can naturally enjoy something, like playing the piano, and might enjoy playing it, but that talent needs to be molded. This 5 year old isn’t going to come on the stage for grammy’s and be like WATCH THIS EVERYBODY and play The Four Seasons or something.

Is the glass half full or half empty? The glass will always and forever be half full. Unless somebody’s pouring me lemonade and didn’t fill it up all then way. Then YOU NEED TO GET YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT BECAUSE WHOEVER DOESN’T GIVE OUT FULL GLASSES OF LEMONADE IS OBVIOUSLY GOING NO WHERE AND GOING THERE FAST. Just saying.

Do you prefer blogging more about yourself, more about life and daily happenings, or just plain fiction writing? Well, considering I don’t know what ‘just plain’ fiction writing is (…really?), it’s not that one. And I’m not sure if I blog more about the first one or the second one…I’ll go with the second one.

YEAH, ‘NOTHER AWARD!

Give me WordPress, AND I’LL GIVE YOU…uh…honey….and stuff….Anyways, thank you VERY VERY much to Simply Miko, for again being awesome, and for giving me honey (I’ll be expecting its arrival by wednesday. Just saying.)

The rules for this award

The Answers

1) School or No School? …Why would you pick school when you could have no school…that’s like wishing for a power outage when Twighlight’s coming on. Actually, scratch that, the power can totally go out then.

2) Hoodie or Jacket? I’m going to say jacket, but mostly because I only own one hoodie, and that one’s getting a lil small (I’ve had it for 3 years…and then my mom had it for who-knows-how-many-years before me.

3) Comedies or Horror Films? HOW ABOUT funny horror films (#bestofbothworlds)

4) Ferrell or Sandler? My friend asked my other friend this the other day, and my friend almost got strangled with his answer…soooo I’ll stay neutral.

5) Pool or Beach? POOL. Mostly because I’ve never BEEN TO A BEACH WHEN IT’S NOT 6AM (yes, mom, I’m looking at you). And also because I just like the pool. You can’t actually swim on the beach.

Plus when you’re at the pool, there’s less of a chance of you drowning/getting bitten by a shark/ being entangled with some random person (actually, that’s about the same both places)/ being dragged out to sea and never being seen by anyone ever again because you’ll be living on this rock where your only companions are hungry seagulls and every time they get desperate enough to try to peck at you you strangle them and eat their feathers and bones for food. So yup.

6) Where do you spend your time the most? On the computer or asleep. Computer because that’s where I work (ahhh homeschool….) and that usually takes awhile, and sleep because…you sleep a lot…during the night….and all…well, MOST people sleep during the night. Not so sure about this guy (question 11)

7) What is your favorite type of writing style (Novel, Short Story, Flash Fics, Poetry, etc.)? Short story. I don’t have the drive to write a novel (I’ve started three and finished zero). I also like writing songs (As in I write lyrics. That have a tune. I just don’t know how to write the tune down. Which is kinda inconvenient)

8) Favorite Genre to write in (Or Favorite Genre to read)? YOUNG ADULT and middle grade/school (#toysruskidforever).

9) Television shows or Movies? Movies. They require less commitment, AND you can just finish watching it. You don’t have to be all like: WHAT!?!? BEKA, WHY’D YOU DO THAT? WAIT, THE SHOWS ENDING?!?!? NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO YOU CAN’T END NOW! THEY WEREN’T EVEN DONE TALKING!!!

10) Texting or Calling friends? Calling. I feel less like a hermit.

11) Online or offline gaming? Uhm, I’ll go with offline. Sure, I like to yell at people when I win/lose, but don’t like hearing them yell at me…so yeah.

First off, I’d like to thank Simply Miko…You made my ENTIRE day, so good job to you.

Now, too the questions at hand!

How old are you?

I am the LOVELY age of 16. Which means I’m old. VERY old. In fact, SO OLD, that I had to emphasize my oldness 3 times. I’m that old (*4 times).

What book are you reading?

I’m reading Violet Eyes, but I SHOULD be reading Insurgent, because it’s due to the library in about a week, and I can’t renew the hold because the waiting line for that book is RIDICULOUSLY long.

What are you wearing?

…Clothes….duh

OTP?

(One True Pairing, for those who don’t know.)

MUCH.TOO.HARD. That’s like asking what your favorite song is…I don’t understand how people can answer this question. Okay, I’ll go with Percy and Annabeth and Leo and Calypso (YES, I READ PERCY JACKSON. Deal with it.) and (MY FAVORITE) Hazel and Augustus (AGAIN, MY FAVORITE).

Blogger or WordPress?

WordPress. Blogger was really boring. I couldn’t even figure out how to comment on it.

I STILL don’t know how to comment on it.

Going outside being active or staying in and reading a book?

Why would you go outside when there’s books…

UNLESS it’s snowing. Because the world will never understand how much I love snow with all of my soul (I’m thinking it comes from being born so close to Christmas)

OH, or unless it’s raining when it’s sunny outside. It’s like the sun laughing at the whether. It’s amusing.

What is the last book you read?

Howl’s Moving Castle. I must say, though, that I like the movie better. Howl and Sophie falling in love at the end seemed WAY more of an after-thought in the book.

What is the book you’re going to read next?

Exile. It’s a Middle Grade book…but I read the first one and LOVED it (I laughed for a lot of it), so I’ll be INCREDIBLY disappointed if this one isn’t awesome too.

Ebooks – yes or no?

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. I like regular paperback/hardcover books WAY better.

The only way I’d ever use a Kindle or whatever is if I went to some out of country place, and I didn’t feel like wandering from place to place looking for a library that probably won’t have any books written in English. THEN I’d definitely pick ebooks, ’cause I’m not dragging a suitcase full of books that’ll be due in a month to Italy.

Where do you prefer to read?

Anywhere people are less likely to bother me. Occasionally, that means hiding under my bed.

If you hated reading, what would you be doing instead?

Be social? Have a life? Be school-obsessed? I don’t know…what does everybody else do?

How many bookshelves / bookcases do you have?

One bookcase, three shelves (I’m trying to get my sister to let me use her one shelf because mine are overflowing, but she keeps saying no…)

If you had the choice to meet all of your favorite book bloggers or all of your favorite authors, which would you pick? You can only pick one.

AUTHORS. That way, I can get EVERY BOOK I OWN signed, and then sell it 56 years later for a million dollars.

If I could read the next Percy Jackson book right now, I would cry pure tears of happiness and joy.

As soon as it comes and and after I watch it and decide to love it with all my soul, THE FAULT IN OUR STARS.

Let it Go in 25 languages (it’s cool) and Lonely Nights (it’s REALLY good)

Which do you enjoy reading more – negative reviews or positive reviews?

Negative. I like to laugh at them. My friends will get negative comments on everything, and we’ll just laugh together. It’s the best.

But no one ever gives me ANY BAD COMMENTS.

Not that I’m complaining. I like nice comments. I like comments in general. I like reblogging and liking and supportive stuff like that. But I still like reading negative comments better.
